Stephen Frears to direct graphic novel adaptation Tamara Drewe

Posy Simmonds’ acclaimed graphic novel Tamara Drewe is getting a big screen adaptation.


British director Stephen Frears is set to take on this romantic comedy, reports Variety.


Gemma Arterton has signed on to play Drewe, a sexy flirt that returns to her small hometown village only to stir up dark passion amongst the locals.


Other cast members include Dominic Cooper, Roger Allam, Luke Evans, Bill Camp and Tamsin Greig.


The film is set to start shooting later this year.
