Felicity Jones Joining Jonah Hill and James Franco in TRUE STORY

British actress takes female lead in crime drama.

‘Like Crazy’ actress Felicity Jones has closed a deal to take the female lead opposite Jonah Hill (’21 Jump Street’) and James Franco (‘Oz The Great and Powerful’) in the fact-based crime drama ‘True Story.’

Based on the memoir of disgraced journalist Michael Finkel, the film sees Hill playing Finkel, who was a writer at The New York Times Magazine in 2002 when he learned that Christian Longo (Franco), who was captured in Mexico after a long time on the FBI Ten Most Wanted List for killing his family, had been living under the identity of Finkel. The next day, Finkel was fired from The Times for reportedly falsifying information. With his career in ruins, the writer finds a shot at redemption when Longo insists on talking only to Finkel.

Jones will be taking the role of Finkel’s long-suffering girlfriend who, according to Deadline, “tries to stand by her guy even after his screw-ups cost them everything.”

‘True Story’ will be directed by Rupert Goold from an adapted screenplay by Dave Kajganich.
