Elisabeth Moss and Jason Schwartzman Leading Indie Drama LISTEN UP PHILLIP

‘The Color Wheel’ director preps his next feature.

TheWrap has learned that writer-director Alex Ross Perry (‘The Color Wheel,’ ‘Impolex’) has cast Elisabeth Moss (‘Top of the Lake,’ ‘Mad Men’) and Jason Schwartzman (‘Saving Mr. Banks,’ ‘Bored to Death’) as the lead for his indie dramedy ‘Listen Up Philip.’

Set in New York City, the story follows “newly accomplished writer Philip (Schwartzman) and those affected by his poor decisions — in particular his successful art-photographer girlfriend Ashley (Moss).”

Toby Halbrooks, James Johnston, and director David Lowery – the creative team behind acclaimed Sundance entry ‘Ain’t Them Bodies Saints – are on board to produce via their Sailor Bear Films banner.

Production is scheduled to begin in the autumn.
