Edward Norton in Talks to Play THE BOURNE LEGACY Villain

Will we be seeing Jeremy Renner face off against Edward Norton?

Variety reports that Edward Norton is in negotiations to play the villain in ‘The Bourne Legacy’ opposite Jeremy Renner.

The new movie has Renner taking the lead, playing another assassin who seeks his identity. While not a sequel, ‘The Bourne Legacy’ accepts everything that has happened in the Matt Damon trilogy and factors it into the storyline.

Filming is set to begin shooting in September with Tony Gilroy (‘Michael Clayton,’ ‘Duplicity’) directing from his own script. Rachel Weisz is also attached and is set play “an operative from a covert government program that is even more dangerous than the Treadstone brainwashing program that hatched Bourne.”

Norton is currently filming Wes Anderson’s ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ with Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman and newcomers Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward.
