Edgerton in Talks to Join Bale in Moses Epic EXODUS

Aussie star sought for biblical film.

THR is reporting that ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ star Joel Edgerton is in talks to join Christian Bale (‘Out of the Furnace,’ ‘The Dark Knight Rises’) in Ridley Scott’s upcoming Biblical epic ‘Exodus.’

Aussie actor Edgerton would be playing the Egyptian ruler Ramses opposite Bale’s Moses, with the film retelling the story of the Hebrew prophet, from his near death as an infant to his adoption into the Egyptian royal family, his defiance of the Pharaoh and deliverance of the Hebrews from enslavement.

“What’s interesting to me about Moses isn’t the big stuff that everybody knows. It’s things like his relationship with Ramses [II, the pharaoh]. I honestly wasn’t paying attention in school when I was told the story of Moses. Some of the details of his life are extraordinary,” Scott said about the movie last year.

Scott is believed to be eyeing a September start date with the script penned by Adam Cooper and Bill Collage, with a rewrite from Steve Zaillian.
