Duncan Jones Departs Ian Fleming Biopic

Biopic now on hunt for new director…

The guys over at TheWrap are hearing that British filmmaker Duncan Jones (‘Source Code,’ ‘Moon’) has had to drop out of directing the upcoming biopic of James Bond creator Ian Fleming.

Jones was keen to direct the biopic, which looked at life of the renowned best-selling author and its parallels with the adventures of the superspy he created, but scheduling with his big-budget adaptation of ‘Warcraft’ became “an insurmountable obstacle.”

Oliver Simon and Daniel Baur of K5 International are producing the biopic with PalmStar Media Capital’s Kevin Frakes and Stuart Fenegan over at Liberty Films. The film also has the backing of Jim Young and Robert Laycock of the Ian Fleming estate.

The producers are now on the hunt for a helmer who can begin casting by next year.
