Filmmaker lines up his next feature.
‘The Cabin in the Woods’ writer/director Drew Goddard has entered into talks to write and direct ‘The Martian,’ a big screen adaptation of the e-book by Andy Weir.
Set up over at 20th Century Fox and described by TheWrap as a cross between ‘Apollo 13’ and ‘Cast Away,’ the sci-fi thriller follows an astronaut who becomes stranded on Mars and must figure out how to survive long enough to return to Earth.
Scribe-turned-producer Simon Kinberg is on board as to produce via his Genre Films banner alongside Aditya Sood. Steve Asbell is overseeing the project for Fox.
