Live-action, manga style film ‘Dragonball’, which was set for release this August, has been pushed to 2009. The studio behind the film, Fox, has explained that the change in date is necessary to avoid a crowded slate that would put it up against ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ and ‘Tropic Thunder’. The film will now be released in the US on April 3, 2009. No Irish release date has been confirmed. Dragonball is based on the manga series about an alien who is sent to Earth to destroy humanity, but decides to join them in their fight against other intergalactic invaders. James Wong serves as writer and director and the cast includes Justin Chatwin, James Marsters, Jamie Chung, Emmy Rossum and Chow Yun-Fat.
