Kenny Ortega quits Footloose remake
Kenny Ortega has quit as director of Chace Crawford-led Footloose remake.
The High School Musical helmer left the project after clashing with the studio about budget and tone. Ortega, who directed the new Michael Jackson concert film This Is It, allegedly wanted to stage complex musical numbers on a budget in excess of $30 million.
A new Footloose director is expected to step in shortly to keep the film on track for a March 2010 production start.
