Star attached to Dennis Lehane adaptation.

Deadline has learned that Warner Bros. has snapped up the rights to the new Dennis Lehane novel ‘Live By Night,’ and is developing the adaptation as a star vehicle for Leonardo DiCaprio.

A plot or logline has yet to be revealed as Lehane’s novel doesn’t hit bookshelves until October, but the author has proven a good source for material for Warner Bros. as the studio has had previous success with adaptation of his Boston crime novels, ‘Mystic River,’ ‘Gone Baby Gone’ and ‘Shutter Island,’ the latter toplined by DiCaprio under the direction of Martin Scorsese.

DiCaprio will produce alongside his Appian Way Productions partners Jennifer Davisson Killoran and Michael Ireland.
