Dicaprio and Hill Reteam for THE BALLAD OF RICHARD JEWELL

Olympic bomber drama reunites duo…

Mike Fleming over at Deadline is hearing that Leonardo DiCaprio and his ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ co-star Jonah Hill are attached to star in a drama based on Marie Brenner’s 1997 Vanity Fair article ‘The Ballad of Richard Jewell.’

Hill will play the title character, a former sheriff’s deputy turned security guard who discovered a backpack in the Olympics compound in Atlanta in 1996 and helped clear bystanders — only to find himself vilified and the target of an FBI investigation into the terrorism plot.

DiCaprio will portray L. Lin Wood Jr., a Southern real estate attorney who guided Jewell through a hellish Twilight Zone that went on even after the FBI officially cleared Jewell’s name three months later.

The project is set up over at 20th Century Fox with DiCaprio and his Appian Way partner Jennifer Davisson Killoran producing alongside Hill and Kevin Misher (‘Carrie,’ ‘Public Enemies’).
