Actor branching out into directing and screenwriting
Oscar-nominated Mexican actor Demián Bichir (‘A Better Life’) is set to step behind the camera for his feature directorial debut with the indie love story ‘Refugio.’
‘Refugio’ tells the story of a circus-born dreamer who embarks on a search for his long lost love.
Bichir will be directing from his own screenplay. His brother, Bruno Bichir, of Mexico’s Escarabajo Productions will co-produce with Alex Garcia and Lucas Akoskin of BN Films.
Principal Photography is set to begin this autumn in the US and Mexico.
