Deadwood Star Joins Tarantino

Samuel L. Jackson officially on board.

Variety reports that Gerald McRaney (‘The A-Team,’ ‘Deadwood,’ ‘Major Dad’) is set to saddle up for Quentin Tarantino’s highly anticipated western revenge thriller ‘Django Unchained.’ The actor has landed an unspecified role.

For those new to the project, ‘Django Unchained’ stars Jamie Foxx as a freed slave, who, under the tutelage of German bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (played by Christoph Waltz) becomes a bounty hunter himself. Together they set out on a mission to rescue Django’s wife from her sadistic slavemaster and plantation owner Monsieur Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). Kevin Costner is also set to co-star in the role of Ace Woody, a sadistic trainer of the male fighting slaves who works for Candie.

The trade also reports that Samuel L. Jackson has officially joined the cast, re-uniting with Tarantino for the fifth time. Jackson will be playing Stephen, a house slave and the right-hand man of DiCaprio’s sadistic Candie.
