Dan Trachtenberg to Direct Bad Robot

Will make feature debut with $5 million thriller…

J. J. Abrams’ Bad Robot has tapped ‘Portal: No Escape’ and commercials director Dan Trachtenberg to take the reins for a low budget end-of-the-world thriller titled ‘Valencia,’ according to TheWrap.

The thriller takes place in “an underground cellar, home to a teenage girl and a caretaker. The girl woke up in the cellar after a car accident, at which point her eerie companion tells her a nuclear attack has devastated society. The girl still hopes to escape.”

Trachtenberg will be directing from a script by Dan Casey, who rewrote an earlier draft by Josh Campbell and Matt Stuecken. Filming is expected to kick off this autumn.
