Damon and Affleck Sought for A SPECK IN THE SEA

A-listers reportedly wanted for survival drama…

Hollywood powerhouse Harvey Weinstein is said to pursuing Ben Affleck and Matt Damon to star together in the maritime survival tale ‘A Speck In The Sea,’ according to The New York Post.

Based on Paul Tough’s recent New York Times Magazine article (which you can read here), the drama explores the harrowing true story of the rescue of lobster fisherman John Aldridge who fell into the ocean in the middle of the night on July 24th, forty miles off Montauk with no life vest and no way to signal where he was. Anthony Sosinski, his childhood best friend and partner on the boat, woke up to realize John was gone. What followed was an unprecedented multi-state rescue operation involving both the Coast Guard and the fishing community from across the Northeast.

Rachael Horovitz (‘Moneyball,’ ‘Grey Gardens’) will produce the feature along with Jason Blum (‘The Purge,’ ‘Paranormal Activity’) and Weinstein. Bob Weinstein will serve as executive producer, with Julie Oh overseeing development for The Weinstein Company.
