Variety is reporting that ‘Thor: The Dark World’ star Chris Hemsworth and Charlie Day (‘Pacific Rim,’ ‘Horrible Bosses’) are in talks to join the cast of ‘Vacation,’ New Line’s upcoming reboot of the ‘National Lampoon’s Vacation’ series that has Ed Helms and Christina Applegate starring.
With ‘Horrible Bosses’ scribes John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein writing and directing, the film follows Clark Griswold’s grown-up son Rusty (Helms), who has his own family experiences and misadventures on the road.
The trade hears that Hemsworth will take the role of Stone Crandall, an up-and-coming anchorman and the husband of Rusty’s sister, Audrey. Day will be playing a river raft touring guide.
Chris Bender and David Dobkin are attached to produce with Jeff Kleeman serving as executive producer.
