Channing Tatum Eyes Evel Knievel Biopic

Would produce and star as the famous daredevil.

Channing Tatum (‘Magic Mike,’ ’21 Jump Street’) is reportedly in negotiations to star in a biopic of the motorcycle daredevil Evel Knievel.

Tatum will produce the project with his Iron Horse Entertainment partner Reid Carolin, who will also write the screenplay based Stuart Barker’s 2008 book ‘Life of Evel.’

Born Robert Craig Knievel, the hard-living stuntman achieved cult status performing death-defying stunts in the 1960s and 70s and was recognisable for his stars-and-stripes motorcycle leathers and cape. The iconic daredevil died of pulmonary disease in 2007 at the age of 69. The 433 broken bones he suffered over the course of his career earned him an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records as the survivor of “most bones broken in a lifetime”

According to THR, Mike DeLuca and Dana Brunetti are on board to produce alongside Tatum and Carolin.
