Wall Street’s Carey Mulligan joins Baz Luhrmann’s Great Gatsby
Carey Mulligan has been cast as Daisy Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann’s Great Gatsby.
Speaking to Deadline about the upcoming film, the director revealed that he is still uncertain if it will be his next project.
“There are a few elements that I feel need to be resolved before I would categorically state that this is my next film,” Luhrmann said.
Luhrmann added: “Regarding the role of Daisy Buchanan… I was thrilled to pick up the phone an hour ago to the young Oscar-nominated British actress Carey Mulligan and say to her, ‘Hello, Daisy Buchanan.'”
Mulligan joins Leonardo DiCaprio as the title character and Tobey Maguire as the narrator Nick Carraway.
