Sci-fi thriller swaps outs its leading man.
Heat Vision is hearing that Gerard Butler (‘Olympus Has Fallen,’ ‘300’) is in negotiations to replace Liam Hemsworth (‘Paranoia,’ ‘The Hunger Games’) as the lead in the Ricardo de Montreuil-directed sci-fi thriller ‘The Raven.’
Based on the Montreuil’s 2010 viral short, the and is set in an alternate and futuristic Los Angeles. Chris Black possesses a power that could lead to the destruction of the current regime, and they will stop at nothing to destroy him. The chase is on as Chris runs for his life.
Mark Wahlberg and Steve Levinson, who brought the project to Universal Pictures, will produce with Paul Brooks and Scott Niemeyer of Gold Circle Films, along with Nick Osborne, Trevor Engelson and Oly Obst. Production is planned for later this year.
