Brett Ratner Producing I WANT MY MTV

Ratner wants his MTV.

‘Tower Heist’ director Brett Ratner is set to team with Sony Pictures to adapt the non-fiction book ‘I Want My MTV: The Uncensored Story of the Music Video Revolution’ into a big screen feature.

The book, written by music journalists Craig Marks and Rob Tannenbaum, is an oral history of MTV and chronicles the groundbreaking channel’s growth in the 1980s and early 90s.

For the moment Ratner is only attached as a producer but Variety adds that he has his eye on the director’s chair. ‘People Like Us’ scribe is penning the screenplay and will co-produce.
