Oscar nominated star to headline WWI spy thriller.
‘Silver Linings Playbook’ star Bradley Cooper is set to produce and star in ‘Dark Invasion,’ an adaptation of bestselling non-fiction author Harold Blum’s as-yet-unpublished book, reports Deadline.
To be published by Crown/Random on September 11, 2013, the book is a true spy thriller set in 1915 when Germany decides to send their Secret Service to America to wage a covert war to keep the U.S. neutral. Cooper will take the role of NYPD Capt Tom Tunney, who will lead the team that track down the German spies and bring them to justice. Think something along the lines of ‘The Untouchables’ and ‘Gangster Squad.’
John Lesher and his Le Grisbi banner and Adam Kassan will produce alongside Cooper, who is producing through his 22nd & Indiana banner.
