Actor/director signs up for political comedy.
Ben Affleck (‘The Town,’ ‘State of Play’) is attached to star in the political comedy ‘Nathan Decker,’ reports Heat Vision.
The script was penned by Dan Fogelman (‘Crazy, Stupid, Love.’ ‘Tangled’) and centers on a politician who gets caught in an affair. With his reputation in tatters, he retreats to his hometown to lick his wounds, repair relationships and confront his past.
Warner Bros. was originally developing the comedy as a starring vehicle for Tom Cruise, but the ‘Mission Impossible’ star has since fallen off.
Affleck, who is currently in postproduction on his period thriller ‘Argo,’ is not expected to direct ‘Nathan Decker.’
