BABEL Helmer Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu to Direct BIRDMAN

Director to tackle the comedy genre.

Alejandro González Iñárritu, a director known for heavy dramas such as ‘Amores Perros,’ ‘Babel’ and ’21 Grams,’ has revealed that he is set to try his hand with a comedy feature and will direct ‘Birdman,’ based on a script he co-wrote with Nicolas Giacobone, Alexander Dinelaris and Armando Bo.

Per THR, ‘Birdman’ follows “a former actor, who once played an iconic superhero, as he mounts a Broadway play in a bid to reclaim past glory. The movie will take place in one location over the course of three days as the actor juggles family, career and his sanity.”

Gonzalez Inarritu is looking to begin shooting the film in March. The Mexican will also produce, alongside Robert Graf and John Lesher.
