Arnold helms Wuthering Heights

Fish Tank director tackles Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights

A film adaptation of Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights is reportedly moving forward with Fish Tank director Andrea Arnold in line to helm.

The long-planned adaptation, which previously saw Natalie Portman, Gemma Arterton and Ed Westwick attached to the cast, will be produced by Robert Bernstein and financed by Ecosse Films and Film4.

Bernstein said that Arnold was attracted to the story because of its “passionate, impossible love story [and] elements of class divide”.

He added: “It’s a very lucky coincidence for us that we’ve found each other.”
