Black List rom-com lands its lead.
THR is reporting that ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ and ‘Les Misérables’ star Anne Hathaway has signed up to take the lead in the Mindy Kaling and Brent Forrester-scripted Black List romantic comedy ‘The Low Self-Esteem of Lizzie Gillespie.’
Described as “a witty rom-com,” the story centres on “a woman whose lack of self-worth has limited her choice in men to losers. Just as she is about to hit bottom of the douche-bag barrel, her life takes an unexpected turn when she is pursued by the hottest guy ever.”
‘The Low Self-Esteem of Lizzie Gillespie’ will be executively produced by Kaling and Forrester with Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake of Good Universe and John Malkovich via his Mr. Mudd Productions.
