Two more join the San Diego news crew for sequel.
‘Bridsemaids’ star Kristen Wiig and James Marsden (‘The Loft,’ ‘X-Men’) have become the latest addition to the cast of ‘Anchorman: The Legend Continues,’ joining returning stars Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, David Koechner, and Christina Applegate.
The sequel, set for release on December 2013, picks up with Ron Burgundy and his San Diego news crew at the dawn of the 24-hour news cycle, and while it has yet to be confirmed, Wiig is said to be playing the love interest of Carell’s weatherman Brick Tamland. Deadline reports that Marsden will play a rival anchor and nemesis to Ferrell’s news-reading alter-ego.
‘Anchorman: The Legend Continues’ is scheduled to begin principal photography in March in Atlanta with Adam McKay in the director’s chair.
