Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Travels to POMPEII

Carrie-Anne Moss, Jessica Lucas and Joe Pingue to co-star.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (‘The Thing,’ ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra,’ ‘Lost,’ ‘Oz’) and Spanish actress Paz Vega have landed roles alongside Kit Harington (‘Game of Thrones’), Kiefer Sutherland (‘24’), Emily Browning (‘Sucker Punch’) and Jared Harris (‘Mad Men’) for Paul W.S. Anderson’s 3D period action-adventure ‘Pompeii.’

Set in the days leading up to the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in A.D. 79, the film is the tale of an enslaved gladiator (Harington) who faces the tyrant (Sutherland) who years before murdered his family and now threatens to steal his lover (Browning).

Harington’s ‘Silent Hill: Revelation’ co-star Carrie-Anne Moss (‘Vegas,’ ‘The Matrix’), Jessica Lucas (‘Evil Dead,’ ‘Cloverfield’), Sasha Roiz (‘Grimm,’ ‘Man of the Year’) and Joe Pingue (‘Pacific Rim,’ ‘Drive’) round out the cast.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who recently completed shooting the role of Algrim/Kurse in ‘Thor 2: The Dark World,’ will portray another enslaved gladiator who becomes friends with Harington’s protagonist. While Vega will take the role of Strigana, the dark and mysterious high priestess of ancient Pompeii.

‘Pompeii’ is being produced by Constantin Film and Impact Films with Jeremy Bolt, Anderson, Don Carmody and Robert Kulzer.
