XFiles Update

Benjamin, home-schooled by his eccentric mother, is a loveable loner whose passion for writing leads him on an offbeat and hilarious journey as his story first gets ripped off by the legendary fantasy novelist Ronald Chevalier and then is adapted into a disastrous movie by the small town’s most prolific homespun filmmaker.

Other than seeing the trailer (twice), fans of “The X-Files” didn’t learn much about the upcoming movie from Chris Carter at Wednesday’s Paley Center event.

Addressing his absence since the series ended, Carter said he “needed a break from the whole experience, which was all-consuming.”

Regarding the movie, Carter wouldn’t  confirm the title but he did say that the plot would mark the six-year span since the series ended and offer some insight into that strange baby that Scully (Gillian Anderson) birthed during the show’s run.

A bootleg copy of the trailer for the upcoming movie is making its way around the net but considering its poor quality, we’d recommend you wait (any self respecting X-Files fan should realise the trailer, like the show, is all about the build up and suspense!)

The new trailer is said to be attached to May’s Iron Man and you can check out some images from the film (as well as the offical poster) HERE.

The film is slated for release later this year.

DISCUSS: Is the Truth is ‘still’ Out There or should Carter and team move on?
