Witch Mountain Scribe adapts Umbrella comic

Mark Bomback tapped to adapt Gerard Way’s The Umbrella Academy

Dark Horse Comic’s hit series The Umbrella Academy is set for a feature film adaptation.

In the comics, The Umbrella Academy is a group of superheroes who had disbanded years ago. The heroes were all adopted and trained by Reginald Hargreeves, an alien disguised as a wealthy entrepreneur. When Hargreeves dies, the members of the Umbrella Academy reunite to carry on his mission and save the world.

Mark Bomback (Constantine, Race to
Witch Mountain) will be adapting the comic created by My Chemical
Romance frontman Gerard Way.

The first The Umbrella Academy miniseries was published in 2007 and won an Eisner Award. A second miniseries is currently in the works.
