Peter Billingsley on board to direct.
Variety reports that Vince Vaughn (‘The Watch,’ ‘Old School’) has closed a deal to star in ‘Triple Time,’ an action-thriller that has Peter Billingsley (‘Couples Retreat’) attached to direct.
Based on a spec script penned by Michael J. Wilson and Billingsley, the story follows “a broke U.S. Marshall (Vaughn) who’s tasked with escorting a prisoner accused of an environmental disaster to Washington D.C. When their transport plane explodes, the unlikely pair must work together to figure out who is behind the conspiracy, which might include one of them.”
Vaughn will produce ‘Triple Time’ with his sister, Victoria Vaughn as well as with Scott Steindorff. Peter Fruchtman. Scott LaStaiti and Dylan Russell will serve as executive producers.
The project is the latest non-comedic role that the ‘Wedding Crashers’ star has attached himself to in the last year. As previously reported, he is attached to lead Randall Wallace’s ‘Gunslingers,’ and big screen reboot of ‘The Rockford Files.’
