Wax on, wax off! The new “Karate Kid: Legends” trailer has just kicked its way into our hearts, and it’s packed with more excitement than a Cobra Kai dojo on tournament day. The film tells the story of kung fu prodigy Li Fong (Ben Wang) who is uprooted from his home in Beijing and forced to move to New York City with his mother. Li struggles to let go of his past as he tries to fit in with his new classmates, and although he doesn’t want to fight, trouble seems to find him everywhere. When a new friend needs his help, Li enters a karate competition – but his skills alone aren’t enough. Li’s kung fu teacher Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) enlists original Karate Kid Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) for help, and Li learns a new way to fight, merging their two styles into one for the ultimate martial arts showdown.

It Features A Legendary Team-Up
Hold onto your black belts, folks! For the first time ever, Jackie Chan’s Mr. Han and Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso are joining forces. This dream team of martial arts masters are sure to deliver some serious on screen action.
Its A Nod to the Past
The original Karate Kid Ralph Macchio isn’t just starring in the film as Daniel, he’s also executive producing. In a touching moment, Jackie Chan’s Mr. Han Mr. Han tells Daniel, “Li is to me, what you meant to Sensei Miyagi” It’s a beautiful callback that bridges generations of martial arts mentorship and ties the film right back to the 1984 original.
It Introduces Us To A New Kid on the Block
Li Fong is the new protagonist played by newcomer Ben Wang, he becomes the first young Asian hero to lead a Karate Kid movie. In the film he plays a kung fu prodigy who finds himself uprooted from Beijing and relocated to New York City following a family tragedy. As he struggles to adapt to his new environment, Li reluctantly enters a karate competition to help a friend, realizing that his kung fu skills alone won’t be enough to secure victory. The character’s different fighting styles will give us a martial arts mash-up, blending his kung fu prowess with karate techniques, creating a hybrid fighting style that’s bound to pack a punch.
