It has been announced, via Twitter, that the excellent Tom Hiddleston (‘Crimson Peak,’ ‘Thor: The Dark World’) has closed a deal to star in ‘Skull Island,’ Legendary Pictures’ cinematic origins of King Kong.
Jordan Vogt-Roberts (‘The Kings of Summer’) is behind the camera for the big budget blockbuster with an original script coming from ‘Godzilla’ screenwriter Max Borenstein.

Previous films have touched on the giant gorilla’s home, but staying on and exploring this mysterious and dangerous place offers Legendary the opportunity to take audiences deeper inside this rich world with a style and scope that parallels other Legendary productions.
‘Skull Island’ is pencilled in for a November 2016 release.
