Word of a fifth Rambo flick doing the rounds…
Could we be seeing Sylvester Stallone returning to play troubled Vietnam vet and former Green Beret John Rambo? Well, according to a press release from Splendid Film it appears so, as the German production company has announced that it has acquired the rights to the next film in the series and Stallone is on board to reprise his iconic role.
The fifth film would reportedly see Rambo going up against the Mexican cartel. Stallone, who is also writing script, has described the fifth outing as his version of ‘No Country for Old Men.’
Avi Lerner, who produced 2008’s ‘Rambo’ and all of Stalloe’s ‘The Expendables’ films, will return to produce ‘Rambo 5.’
Last August, it was revealed that Lerner was teaming up with Nu Image and Entertainment One to develop and produce a ‘Rambo’ television series with a new actor playing one-man army John Rambo, it is unclear if that project is still in development.
