Formula 1 drama based on Ferrari team.
‘Senna’ writer Manish Pandey is working with ‘Coriolanus’ producer Julia Taylor Stanley to develop a $60 million drama based on the Ferrari racing team, reports Screen Daily.
The drama will focus on famed drivers Mike Hawthorn and Peter Collins and the racing brand’s history in the late 1950s and early 1960s. A love triangle is reportedly being incorporated into the story.
“It was a very tragic period in Ferrari’s history,” said the producer. “Nobody can write about Formula 1 like Manish can. His knowledge is second to none so we’re very excited about the project. We’re already talking to an A-list director and have some financing committed, so it ‘s all happening very fast.” The project is being set up as a UK-Italy co-production with shooting to take place in both countries.
