Mission: Impossible IV confirmed for 2011
The next instalment in the Mission: Impossible franchise will open in cinemas in 2011.
Tom Cruise and Mission: Impossible III helmer J.J. Abrams will co-produce the new Ethan Hunt adventure.
“Tom and I have come up with a really cool idea we are pursuing,” Abrams said earlier.
A fourth sequel of the spy saga appeared unlikely after the collapse of Cruise’s relationship with Paramount. The actor’s 14-year partnership with the studio was terminated in 2006 by Viacom chief Sumner Redstone, with Cruise moving on to take charge of the revamped United Artists.
However, the pair have since resolved their differences, paving the way for a new Mission: Impossible.
