Jamie Foxx (‘Soul,’ ‘Project Power’) has signed on to produce and star in the vampire feature ‘Day Shift’ for Netflix, Deadline has learned.
Featuring a script by Tyler Tice, with revisions by Shay Hatten (‘John Wick: Chapter 3’), the film will see Foxx playing “a hard-working blue-collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted 8-year old daughter, but his mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income, hunting and killing vampires.”
The movie marks the feature debut of director JJ Perry, and has ‘John Wick’ franchise director Chad Stahelski, and Jason Spitz on board as producers. Shaun Redick (‘BlackKklansman’) and Yvette Yates Redick (‘Malicious’) will co-produce.
