Emma Watson (‘Beauty and the Beast,’ ‘Harry Potter’) is reportedly set to join the cast of the upcoming star-studded remake of Louisa May Alcott’s adored classic ‘Little Women.’
Originally published in 1869, the classic American novel follows the lives of four sisters – Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy March – during the Civil War as they learn to navigate love, loss and the trials of growing up.
Greta Gerwig (‘Lady Bird’) is behind the camera, directing from her own script, with the likes of Saoirse Ronan, Meryl Streep, Laura Dern, Timothee Chalamet, and Florence Pugh in negotiations to star.
Per Variety, Watson is being lined up for the role intended for Emma Stone, who was unable to join due to scheduling.
