Adaptation adds two more supporting roles.
Kate Bosworth (‘Straw Dogs’) and Frank Grillo (‘The Grey’) have signed up to join Jason Statham and James Franco in Gary Fledler’s ‘Homefront,’ reports THR.
An adaptation of Chuck Logan’s 2006 crime novel of the same name, the story follows Phil Broker (Statham), an ex-DEA agent who moves his family to a quiet town hoping to escape his past. However, he soon runs afoul of a villainous meth kingpin named Gator (Franco).
Per THR, Bosworth will be taking the role of play Gator’s “meth-addicted sister, who inadvertently starts the feud when her son, a bully, gets his butt handed to him by Statham’s daughter at school. She turns to Gator, psychotically wanting retribution.” Grillo will be playing one of Gator’s henchmen.
The adaptation was penned by Sylvester Stallone and will be produced by Kevin King and Avi Lerner. Winona Ryder and child actor Izabela Vidovic are also on board.
