Walker in talks for Edward Zwick-directed film.
Benjamin Walker (‘Flags of Our Fathers’) has entered talks to star opposite Henry Cavill (‘Man of Steel’) in ‘The Great Wall.’
Set to be directed by Edward Zwick (‘Defiance,’ ‘Blood Diamond,’ ‘The Last Samurai’) from a script he co-wrote with Marshall Herskovitz, the supernatural story explores the mystery behind the construction of The Great Wall of China.
According to Variety, Cavill and Walker will play 15th century British soldiers who discover that the Great Wall wasn’t built to keep out the Mongols, but rather dangerous creatures.
Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni of Legendary Entertainment will co-produce with Charles Roven and Alex Gartner of Atlas Entertainment, as well as Zwick and Herskovitz. Production was originally planned for later this year but has now been pushed back to next spring.
Walker will next be seen starring in ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’ which hits Irish cinemas June 20th.
