Filmmaker selects his next project…
Renowned Chinese director Wong Kar-Wai (‘The Grandmaster,’ ‘My Blueberry Nights’) has signed on to take the director’s chair for the Shanghai-set anthology ‘Blossoms.’
Based on an award-winning novel by Shanghai author Jin Yucheng, the short stories take place over two time-periods in Shanghai: the 1960s to the mid-1970s, the end of the Cultural Revolution; and from the 1980s to the late 1990’s.
Wong is working with Jin on the screenplay. The project has the backing of the Shanghai Film Group.
