Scott Derrickson takes us behind-the-scenes of his latest movie “The Day the Earth Stood Still”.
Classic ‘50s sci-fi flick “The Day the Earth Stood Still” gets a face lift this week with Keanu Reeves starring as the alien Klaatu, who has come to earth with a warning: change your ways or face global annihilation brought about through a race of robots such as Gort, Klaatu’s intergalactic traveling companion.
Translating the cult classic for a contemporary audience is director Scott Derrickson, who has worked previously on films such as “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”. We spoke to Derrickson about the challenges of bringing the film to the big screen, working with Keanu Reeves and his future projects Devils Knot and Paradise Lost.
