Retro-futuristic family headed to the big screen…

Plans are underway at Warner Bros. to bring the classic Hanna-Barbera series ‘The Jetsons’ to the big screen with an animated feature, according to Deadline.

The studio has set Matt Lierberman the task of scripting the feature, which will follow the exploits of the retro-futuristic family – George, Jane, Judy, Elroy Jetson, Rosie the Robot, and Astro the dog – in the year 2062.

Devised as Hanna-Barbera’s Space Age counterpart to ‘The Flintstones,’ the series ran from 1962 to 1963.

A number of years ago it was revealed that the studio was looking bring the futuristic family to the big screen with a live-action feature, but the project never made it out of the development stage.
