Hollywood has set in motion plans for an English-language remake of Joachim Trier’s 2017 Norwegian supernatural thriller ‘Thelma,’ tapping ‘I, Tonya’ director Craig Gillespie for the director’s chair.
Starring Eili Harboe, the original follows a confused religious girl who tries to deny her feelings for a female friend who’s in love with her. This causes her suppressed subconsciously-controlled psychokinetic powers to reemerge with devastating results.
Playwright Christy Hall is attached to pen the script for Gillespie. News on the project comes via Deadline.
