‘Cabin in the Woods’ director Drew Goddard has been tapped by 20th Century Fox to write and direct the Deadpool/X-Men spinoff ‘X-Force.’

The brainchild of writer/illustrator Rob Liefeld, the ‘X-Force’ comics featured a more militant, down n’ dirty version of the X-Men, heroes that are willing do some unscrupulous things in an effort to make things right.

According to Deadline, the movie will see the team led by Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Josh Brolin’s Cable, whom will be introduced ‘Deadpool 2.’ Zazie Beetz’ probability-altering mutant mercenary Domino will also appear.

Producers for the project include ‘X-Men’ regulars Simon Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner, and Reynolds.

Along with the ‘Deadpool’ sequel and ‘X-Force,’ 20th Century Fox has the Josh Boone-directed ‘X-Men: The New Mutants’ ready to go, along with the next instalment of the main franchise ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix,’ giving fans of the X-verse a lot to look forward to.
