Gregory Jacobs-directed sequel heads into production…

Amber Heard (‘The Adderall Diaries,’ ‘3 Days to Kill’), Andie MacDowell (‘Groundhog Day,’ ‘Four Weddings And A Funeral,’ ‘Hudson Hawk’) and Jada Pinkett-Smith (‘Gotham,’ ‘The Matrix’) have landed roles alongside Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello in the ‘Magic Mike’ sequel, according to Variety.

Continuing the story of the male strippers, the Gregory Jacobs-directed sequel follows the guys – Mike, Adam, Ken, and of course Big Dick Richie – on a road trip to a major stripping tournament.

Jacobs recently confirmed that Matthew McConaughey, who played charismatic strip club entrepreneur Dallas, would not be returning due to his busy schedule.

While the first film’s helmer, Steven Soderbergh, may have stepped away from the director’s chair, he will remain involved with ‘Magic Mike XXL,’ serving as editor, a camera operator, and director of cinematography. Filming is underway with the film pencilled in for a Summer 2015 release.
