UNCHARTED Movie Lands 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE Director

Up-and-coming filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg, who made his feature directorial debut with Bad Robot’s ’10 Cloverfield Lane,’ will take the helm for the long-in-the-works videogame adaptation ‘Uncharted.’

Trachtenberg replaces Shawn Levy (‘Stranger Things,’ ‘Night at the Museum’), who had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts with the Ryan Reynolds-led action comedy ‘Free Guy.’

Created and developed by Naughty Dog, the ‘Uncharted’ series follows treasure hunter Nathan “Nate” Drake, a descendant of explorer Sir Francis Drake, as he travels around the world to uncover various historical mysteries.

Tom Holland (‘Spider-Man: Far From Home,’ ‘Avengers: Endgame’) remains attached to star, with the film chronicling Drake’s first encounter with his cigar-chomping friend, Victor Sullivan.

In the meantime, check out ‘Firefly’ alum and Uncharted fanboy Nathan Fillion’s unofficial live-action short. The 14-minute short which also stars Stephen Lang, was directed by Allan Ungar.
