It looks like Tobey Maguire (‘Pawn Sacrifice,’ ‘The Great Gatsby’) is ready to turn his hand to directing, with Deadline bringing word that the actor is to make his filmmaking debut with the crime thriller ‘Blood On Snow.’
Based on the Jo Nesbø’s two book series of the same name, the thriller is the tale of a talented hitman named Olav, who is forced to go into hiding after he fails on a job and finds himself on the run with his intended target, who unfortunately happens to be his boss’s wife.”
Producers on the project include Lawrence Grey, Maguire and his Material partner Matthew Plouffe. Grey Matter’s Ben Everard, Nesbo and his agent Niclas Salomonsson will serve as executive producers.
‘Blood On Snow’ was initially set up with Maguire’s fellow actor and friend Leonardo DiCaprio attached to star under the direction of Daniel Espinosa (‘Life,’ ‘Safe House,’ ‘Snabba cash’).
