’12 Years a Slave’ actress Storm Reid has scored the lead role in director Ava DuVernay’s upcoming adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s classic children’s book, ‘A Wrinkle in Time.’
The fantasy sci-fi follows young Meg Murry who, along with a schoolmate and her younger brother travel through time and visit strange worlds in order to find their missing scientist father.
Rising-star Reid joins a cast that includes Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling, who are playing a trio of supernatural beings that aid the children on their journey.
Jennifer Lee, who wrote, and co-wrote ‘Frozen’ with Chris Buck, is providing the adapting the script.
