Kirsten Dunst (‘Upside Down,’ ‘Melancholia’) and Joel Edgerton (‘Zero Dark Thirty,’ ‘Warrior’) have closed deals to star opposite Michael Shannon in the sci-fi drama ‘Midnight Special.’
In the film, a father discovers his 8-year old son has supernatural powers and the two go on run from their enemies.
Writer/director Jeff Nichols (‘Mud,’ ‘Take Shelter,’ ‘Shotgun Stories’) is behind the camera for the contemporary sci-fi with Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (‘Dead Man Down,’ ‘Insidious,’ ‘The Bay’) and Sarah Green (‘Mud,’ ‘The Tree of Life,’ ‘Frida’) producing. Glen Basner and Christos V. Konstantakopoulos will serve as executive producers.
