‘Warrior’ and ‘Animal Kingdom’ star Joel Edgerton is reportedly in talks to star in the Noam Murro-directed prequel ‘300: Battle of Artemisia,’ according to Vuture.
If a deal is closed, Edgerton will playing Themistocles, the famed archon and general who led the Greeks to victory against the invading Persians in 480 BC. The story takes place over the course of several years and tells of how Xerxes became a “god-like” entity.
The Australian actor will next be seen starring alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead in ‘The Thing’ when it hits Irish cinemas in December. Edgerton is currently filming Baz Luhrmann’s ‘The Great Gatsby’ with Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan and Isla Fisher.
